CONNECTICUT
We made it to the ocean!! I have officially driven across the country for the first time. It was by no means a straight shop. It was circuitous and meandering but we made it from the southwest to the northeast. We passed through Massachusetts on our way to Connecticut.
We came here because Phil’s college roommate Jim and his wife and daughter live in Stonington, CT right on the border of Rhode Island and my brother lives in Charlestown, RI just 20 minutes away. We parked the “boat”in our friend’s yard and settled in for a stay.
We spent some quality time exploring the local area. Over the course of three weeks we have visited places in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
In Connecticut we visited historic downtown Stonington which is right on the Atlantic Ocean. Reminds me very much of Newport, RI - Narrow streets with historic homes.
We had a great lunch at Noah’s on antique alley (Water Street.)
There are also some great locations to take in the ocean vistas and the setting sun.
We moved to the local KOA in North Stonington on 8/17/21. Nice location right on the border. We thought it was time to give Jim and Mel their yard back.
