Burlington, VT

We left New York and headed over the border into Vermont.  We stayed right outside Burlington in a small town call Colchester just north of the city. We headed up here to visit an attraction that I had read about and heard about from multiple sources the Shelburne Museum which is just south of Burlington.

We spent our first night - a Saturday- going into Burlington to celebrate my birthday.  Now my actual birthday was on Monday but no nicer restaurants are open on Mondays. Turns out many are also closed on Sunday too due in large part to staffing shortages.  Took us a while to find a restaurant that even had an opening. We took the coastal route down along Lake Champlain into Burlington and went out to watch the sun set on the lake. Very busy college town with lots of cafes and breweries.

We had some bad weather the next couple of days so we did some antiquing and went down to see the city. That’s when we found out that SHELBURNE Museum is not open at the beginning of the week. Since it is primarily an outdoor walking museum we had not thought to do it in the rain and by the time we found out it is not open on Mondays  and Tuesdays it was too late. We were leaving on Wednesday morning. So when the sun came out on Monday we went down to the lake and took some pictures. We also had a great Mexican Breakfast that was delicious.

Next stop Connecticut.
