The Shipwreck Museum and White Fish Point Lighthouse

Have to say this was right up my alley. Love a good death and destruction story. Lots of them in this museum. This sits at the very tip northeast tip of Michigan’s upper peninsula. Really interesting little museum which details the number of shipwrecks in the Great Lakes. Really heartbreaking section on the Edmund Fitzgerald that shows you in pictures each of the men and boys who perished and were immortalized in Gordon Lightfoot’s song.

The lighthouse also lets you see the home previously occupied by the lighthouse keeper. The conditions here were extremely harsh and the life very isolating.  Really a great place to stop if you are ever up here.
