Made it to Wisconsin our 10th state

Made it to Wisconsin after leaving Minnesota where we spent 10 glorious days. It was pouring as we passed through Duluth headed for our campground in Iron River, WI.  Wanted to try and get as close as we could to Apostle  Islands National Seashore which sits on the northeast peninsula at the northern end of the state.

We stayed at Top-O-The-Mourn campground in Iron River WI on Iron Lake.  We had an entire section of the park to ourselves which was nice.

Our plan was to visit Apostle Islands National Seashore. We ended up starting our adventurer at the northern Great Lakes Visitor Center which is an amazing museum in Ashland, WI.

The museum has a great exhibit place on the first floor, a beautiful gallery for local artists on the second floor and an observation deck on the third floor. Below is some art from the second floor.

Outside there is a habitat where migrating monarchs can stop. While I was there I helped the ranger harvest monarchs to bring into the museum.

After that Phil and I headed to the beach so we could stick our feet in our first Great Lake  - Superior.
