Last Stop in Texas

As we make our way up to Arkansas we stopped at the last “stamp-collecting” spot in the state.  Never heard of this place til I found it in my passport book. Not too far off the freeway just outside Waco - the home of that Baylor team that beat UCLA in the NCCA basketball finals, you will find this location - Nothing like the La Brea Tar Pits - but it has some cool fossils. Only first discovered in the 1970’s this dig has chosen to leave the found fossils in their original, unearthed state. Very cool to see in that way.

Best guess from the researchers at Baylor that have been working on this “dig,” a mudslide buried this group.

Spent an enjoyable couple of hours here before we headed north.  Decided not to check into the Gaines of -HGTV Fame-  heard just to park at their location they charge $10.

Tomorrow a new state Arkansas.
