September 15, 2021 Independence Hall Philadelphia.

I had never been to Philadelphia so this was one of my must visits on this trip. We had about a 45 minute drive into the city from our campground.  There aren’t many campgrounds in the greater Philadelphia area so you don’t have much choice. You also need to prepare. You need a timed entrance to see the bell and go into Independence Hall.  You can’t assume you will be able to get in on the day you arrive.

What a timed entrance ticket looks like.

First we explored the visitor center.

Then we went to see the bell which is housed at the site of George Washington’s former home. There is also a newer exhibit at the same location explaining that when they were building this site they found what appeared to be the slave quarters of those who were owned by the Washington’s.

You could NOT take your mask off when taking pictures so here I am with my face covered.

After wondering around we walked over it Independence Hall for our tour.

Our last stop was the Ben Franklin museum. Highly recommend this museum. You have to pay but it’s well worth it.
