Downtime in Oxford, Iowa
For the last three days we have been at a small campground in Oxford, Iowa. We chose this location for several reasons.
First we are following some advice my husband received from his friend Jan. The rule of 3s apply in full time RVing. Take a break every 3 hours. Don’t drive more than 300 miles a day if at all possible. Get to your site by 3:00 pm and have a cocktail. (I added the cocktail part.)
Second this location is on the way to where we are headed next - the Des Moines, Iowa Art Festival.
Third, it has a pool, a lake and laundry facilities.
We’ve had three great nights here. Yesterday some killer thunderstorms swept in during the night. Caught up on laundry and now we’re off to Des Moines and then Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. We will not be spending much time in Wisconsin. We will be visiting the upper peninsula and then heading down to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. Any suggestions or must stops along the way are always appreciated.
